STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Staten Island Economic Development Corp. recently announced a partnership with Crauderueff Solar and OYA Solar to plan and develop a community solar and battery storage initiative across the borough.The partnership plans to implement community solar and battery storage installations, specifically to support disadvantaged neighborhoods and to transition to renewable energy for the borough.The New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA) provided a $125,000 grant to support the project through its Affordable Solar and Storage Predevelopment and Technical Assistance Program, which aims to address barriers to solar and energy storage installations benefiting low-to-moderate income (LMI) households not served by traditional residential solar.“Solar energy is part of our future, and we want to be very sure that Staten Island is prepared and…
