DEWITT – As the first deadline looms for legislation to move forward in the Iowa House and Senate, local lawmakers are attending a flurry of committee meetings and reading hundreds of pages of proposed bills, they said at a legislative coffee in DeWitt Saturday morning.The trick will be figuring out how to fund the state’s financial needs while also delivering a tax cut that the Republican majority in both chambers and the governor have promised.“Things are getting going fast.
