As we move towards the endgame of climate negotiations in Glasgow, there is an inevitable focus on whether new national targets and sectoral pledges made at COP26 are enough to deliver the halving of global emissions needed by 2030.
The challenge of charting a new sustainable course for the global economy is vast. Turning the supertanker around requires a deliberate set of smaller scale interventions.
