Cummins to Build Fuel Cells for Freightliner Cascadia

[Stay on top of transportation news: Get TTNews in your inbox.]LONG BEACH, Calif. — Cummins Inc. will supply market leader Freightliner, a brand of Daimler Trucks North America, with a Cummins hydrogen fuel cell powertrain for the heavy-duty Cascadia model, Cummins Chairman and CEO Tom Linebarger said in a surprise announcement.Units will be available by 2024 for select customers, he said.Linebarger was the final keynote speaker at ACT Expo 2022, which drew a record 8,500 registrants and 200 exhibitors in its 11th year here.
