Council to consider solar energy proposal | News

The Russellville City Council will consider a resolution during its regular meeting tonight at 6 p.m. authorizing Mayor Richard Harris and City Clerk-Treasurer Gina Skelton to enter into an agreement with Scenic Hill Solar Field to be constructed for City Corporation.Steve Mallett, general manager for City Corporation, told the council during its Dec. 7 agenda prep meeting that the projected 10-year savings to the water and sewer utility would be approximately $1.4 million, and the projected 30-year savings would be approximately $7.39 million.Mallett said Scenic Hill Solar will obtain tax credits to build the solar array behind the City Corporation Plant on Jimmy Lyle Road.
