“Profits accompany quest for energy alternatives” (Reading Eagle, Dec. 1), does not have the facts straight.
I have had solar panels on my house for years. In that time, I have never paid one cent for electricity in May through September and generally not one cent in October or November even though I have an all-electric house.
In the remaining months when there is less sunlight, my electric bills are noticeably reduced.
Additionally, I receive a solar credit on my homeowner’s insurance policy and payment for renewable energy credits that I sell (no I’m not selling my electricity, just the credit for generating it through renewable sources) and I substantially increased the value of my home, according to my insurance agent.
Installing solar panels was one of the smartest financial decisions I ever made.
