Delmarva Power proposes system for 100th StreetPicture this: 35,700 laptop computers stacked across an open lot, or more than 60 tons of car batteries in that same space. That would be the electrical power equivalent of what Delmarva Power proposes to do at its much tidier Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on 100th Street in Ocean City.The company intends to capture and hold for redelivery enough electrical energy to run 100 homes for a day, and do it in a compact 10-by-50 building containing lithium ion battery packs, with a pair of outbuildings for ancillary gear and materials.
