WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – Several Whatcom County organizations will be going solar in the near future.
Puget Sound Energy said that nearly $1 million will be distributed among 13 organizations and tribes across the state for various solar energy projects.
Of the 13 organizations, four are located in Whatcom County, including the Ferndale Food Bank and the Nooksack Tribe.
The Samish Nation in Skagit County will also be getting solar funding from PSE.
Officials said that the solar projects will likely be completed by the end of this year.
No information about specific funding has been released for each individual organization or tribe.
