Green hydrogen for steel production – Swiss Steel Group’s 1st Hydrogen Symposium proved a huge success.
The Swiss Steel Group (SSG) held the 1st Hydrogen Symposium at the Henrichshütte Iron and Steel Works in Hattingen. Eminent speakers from academia, business and politics held lectures in four sessions dedicated to the following key topics:
Hydrogen supply strategy
Hydrogen-resistant steels
Industrial use of hydrogen
Supply and use of hydrogen based on the example of Deutsche Edelstahlwerke
At the opening of the event, Frank Koch, CEO of the Swiss Steel Group, welcomed participants. After a brief recap of the history of the Henrichshütte ironworks, he explained the importance and use of hydrogen from its production to use in steel production. This brief introduction outlined the symposium’s content.
