ALBANY – The State Public Service Commission will hold a virtual public hearing on Tuesday, November 22 regarding KCE NY 2, LLC’s authority to construct, own, and operate an energy storage facility in the Town of Montgomery.
The company would like to construct the facility north of Route 17K between the intersections with Stone Castle Road and Browns Road.
The proposed project is comprised of 41 inverter and medium voltage transformer containers with a total capacity of 169 megawatts and up to 164 battery container installations with a total capacity of 300 megawatt hours.
The proposed project’s interconnection to New York’s electrical grid wo0uld predominantly use existing infrastructure and connect to the 115 kV Central Hudson Gas and Electric Corporation’s Coldenham substation via an overhead gen-tie line.
