M&A activity related to Batteries increased in the mining industry in 2022

Analysis of the key themes driving M&A activity reveals that batteries accounted for 14 mining deals announced in Q3
2022, worth a total value of $309m, according to GlobalData’s Deals Database. The $111.6m acquisition of Shandong
RuiFu Lithium Industry by Huizhou Yiwei Lithium Energy was the industry’s largest deal.
In value terms, batteries related deal activity increased by 486% in Q3 2022 compared with the previous quarter’s
total of $52.7m and rose by 205893% as compared to Q3 2021. Related deal volume increased by 180% in Q3 2022 versus
the previous quarter and was 1300% higher than in Q3 2021.
