BELVIDERE TOWNSHIP — Residents of this township will decide whether to approve a new solar energy ordinance in November’s election.
The ballot proposal language will read as follows: On April 15, 2022, the Belvidere Township Board adopted Ordinance No. 18-3, which would amend the Township Zoning Ordinance to regulate the development and use of Solar Energy Systems and amend the Flat River Natural Rivers Overlay District. Do you wish to approve Ordinance No. 18-3?”

The referendum was initiated by Belvidere Township resident Kenneth Purchase.
