Dogwood Corners LLC held a public meeting on Thursday at New Barren Springs Baptist Church to propose the construction of a solar energy project in Christian County and some residents came out to voice their unhappiness about it.Seth Wilmore, Director and Sites and Permitting manager of Oriden, which is working on the project, presented a large-scale map of the location and details.“We developed this project here for three key reasons. The first is, it’s located adjacent to Tennessee Valley Authorities, 161 kV line — so that electric line has capacity on it, meaning it has the availability to be on the line for the project size. The other reason is -interested landowners,” said Wilmore.
