Clean Energy: EU energy commissioner visits India to boost Clean Energy and Climate Partnership

EU Energy commissioner
Kadri Simson will be in Delhi this week signalling the EU’s strong engagement with India in the area of energy, as the EU and India mark 60 years of diplomatic relationship this year.
The EU and India have a robust cooperation in the fight against climate change and biodiversity loss. EU – India established a Clean Energy and Climate Partnership in 2016 and have been working closely together on clean energy transition, to speed up the deployment of renewable energy, promote energy efficiency, collaborate on smart grid and storage technology and modernise the electricity market.
Simson will hold bilateral meetings with relevant Ministers, the International Solar Alliance and stakeholders.
