Here’s an energy storage policy blueprint for Illinois

It’s hot, and electricity demand is high.
So, questions about energy prices and the reliability of renewable energy are taking center stage in the political debate over our state’s energy future.
Achieving the massive build-out of renewable energy and storage needed to meet our climate action goals while keeping energy costs low for consumers relies on immediate federal and state action.
Congress will play a critical role with pieces of legislation to incentivize the deployment of renewable energy and storage like the Better Energy Storage Technology Act, which was included in the infrastructure package signed into law last year, and the investment tax credit for energy storage, which was included in the budget reconciliation package that the Senate unfortunately failed to pass.
