Cheaper, lighter batteries to power e-mopeds in Tel Aviv

The next time you order a pie from Pizza Hut or a McFalafel from the Golden Arches in Israel, your order may arrive via an electric-powered moped with a “3D battery.”
Tel Aviv-based Blitz Motors, which manufacturers smart scooters that serve a wide variety of local businesses including Dominos, Gorillas, Sushi Shop and the Israel Postal Authority, is teaming up with fellow Tel Aviv startup Addionics, whose innovative technology improves battery range while lowering production costs.
A prototype for the new Addionics-powered Blitz scooters should be tooling around Tel Aviv by 2023.
Rather than tweaking the battery’s chemistry to improve performance, Addionics makes the battery’s electric current conductor more efficient using nanotechnology, making it both cheaper and lighter.
