Azelio bags 1st deal for energy storage units in US

June 21 (Renewables Now) – Swedish cleantech company Azelio AB (FRA:4AZ) said on Tuesday it has received an order to deliver a long-duration energy storage system to California’s grocery store retailer Handi Stop Market.Under the deal, its first one from the US market, Azelio will supply two units of its TES.POD product, which will be coupled with solar photovoltaic (PV) panels. The units will be tailored to fit the US standards and installed at a site in Fresno in the first half of 2023.The Handi Stop Market site consists of a gas station, a convenience store and a fast-food outlet.The solar-battery system is estimated to provide Handi Stop with around 140 MWh of electricity annually, which is expected to cover around 50% of the electricity demand at the specific location.
