SEOUL, Dec. 29 (Korea Bizwire) — The Korea Institute of Science and Technology said Wednesday it has developed a new technology that can replace high-temperature, high-pressure energy used for the production of hydrogen peroxide with photovoltaic energy, thus improving overall productivity.
Hydrogen peroxide is a core material used in chip production. However, a stable supply of hydrogen peroxide is uncertain due to the pandemic situation and the explosive growth of semiconductor production demand.
The existing thermochemical process for the production of peroxide requires high energy consumption and creates environmental issues such as greenhouse gas emissions.
