Davis County Sheriff Dave Davis released information Saturday morning on the overturned semi-trailer accident that occurred at the Junction of Highways 2 and 63 west of Bloomfield Wednesday afternoon.Terrance Johnson from Maryland was hauling a load of used automotive batteries from Chicago aboard his Ten-Eight, Inc. transport carrier. Johnson was westbound on Highway 2 and attempted to turn left onto Highway 63 at the junction. Davis said it is believed Johnson was going too fast to negotiate the curve and the rig overturned.
Davis speculated the batteries inside the trailer were not properly secured and they shifted, causing the tractor and the trailer to tip on its side.There were approximately 44,000 lbs. of batteries in the trailer. The…
