Long-life Li-S batteries based on multifunctional separators functionalized by porous mediators

A porous Fe3O4 mediator with a hollow nanostructure is proposed as a functional layer to construct the multifunctional separators, which contributes to boosting the redox kinetics of Li-S battery by achieving effective blocking, strong chemisorption, and fast conversion of LiPSs. The newly-designed separator also facilitates the efficient transfer of lithium-ion during cycling.
