Hopkinsville council passes solar energy ordinance | News

The Hopkinsville City Council passed the second reading of the ordinance amending certain sections and adding a new section to the zoning code of ordinances to define and regulate the placement of solar energy systems at Tuesday’s regularly scheduled meeting.The ordinance amends the code to include the following definitions for integrated, rooftop and ground mounted solar energy systems and sets a minimum distance on how far solar panels can be placed from adjoining property lines.Another ordinance amended the occupational license tax, was passed with a 10-2 vote, stating that any person or business entity engaged in any business for profit, as well as any person or business entity required to file with the Internal Revenue Service or the Kentucky…
