No green hydrogen for Kurri Kurri on start-up: Snowy

Labor’s commitment to run the plant on green hydrogen was central to its support for the Kurri Kurri project, which was initiated under the previous coalition government and was originally opposed by Labor when in Opposition. Labor reversed its position in January, contingent on Snowy converting the generator to run on green hydrogen more quickly, including 30 per cent from the outset and 100 per cent by 2030.The 30 per cent minimum requirement from the start of production was subsequently quietly watered down to 15 per cent.
