Spain’s Cepsa Plans Green Hydrogen Corridor to Northern Europe

By Cristina Roca Spanish oil-and-gas company Cepsa SA and the Port of Rotterdam plan to set up a green hydrogen corridor to help power northern Europe’s industry while reducing its carbon footprint, they said Tuesday. Privately-owned Cepsa will produce hydrogen using renewable energy near the port of Algeciras, in Spain, then ship it to Rotterdam–Europe’s most important energy port–through hydrogen carriers.

The green hydrogen will then be distributed to industrial centers in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany by means of pipelines.
