Main China-based lithium-ion battery makers, in view of large potential demand for energy storage systems, have been actively investing in setting up additional production capacities, according to industry sources.EVE Energy in April 2022 decided to invest CNY20 billion (US$2.81 billion) to set up a lithium-ion battery factory with annual production capacity of 50GWh in two phases and a battery research institute in Chengdu, western China.
