Hotelière Ariane Oswald is prepared for a possible power cut.
Ariane Oswald (42) has just bought quite a few batteries. not for yourself. But for the four Sorel hotels she runs in and around Zurich. This includes Hotel Rutli in the middle of Niederdorf.
Guests enter the room with a key card. “If the power goes out, the door locks run out of batteries,” explains the hotel manager. In an emergency, there will also be a traditional key for each door. “But we haven’t used them for years,” Oswald says. If a guest is accidentally handed a universal key, he suddenly has the passport of the entire hotel.
