The engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and hi-tech manufacturing company Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has announced the commissioning of a green hydrogen facility at its AM Naik Heavy Engineering Complex in Hazira, Gujarat.
The production facility is expected to produce 45 kg of green hydrogen daily, which would be used for captive consumption at its Hazira manufacturing complex.
The green hydrogen project has been designed for an electrolyzer capacity of 800 kW, comprising alkaline (380 kW) and polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) (420 kW) technologies. It would be powered by a 990 kW (DC) capacity rooftop solar system and a 500 kWh battery energy storage system (BESS).
As part of the first phase of the project, the 380 kW alkaline electrolyzer has been installed, while the 420 kW PEM electrolyzer and solar plant capacity augmentation to 1.6 MW (DC) would be part of…
