SOMERSET, Mass. (WLNE)– The Commander in Chief will be making his way to Southern New England tomorrow. He will speak and tour the old Brayton Point power plant in Somerset– now moving towards renewable, clean energy production.
The coal-powered facility was demolished in 2019.
An Italian-based company recently purchased a portion of land on Brayton Point. The company will focus on wind energy and power cable production. The facility is set to open in 2026.
The official announcement of his visit came this morning from White House officials.
