Brazil firms studying large-scale energy storage solutions

A group of Brazilian companies is studying the economic and technological feasibility of energy storage solutions in large consumption centers. The main research line is focused on water pumping units that use a limited amount of energy and can provide potency as a backup to the national grid. This type of plant does not have to be installed on a river and requires lower transmission investments, offering economic and environmental advantages compared with conventional hydroelectric plants.
