Secretary Granholm Traveled to West Virginia to Highlight Clean Energy Investments in Appalachia

On Friday, March 18th, U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm traveled to Charleston, West Virginia to highlight how the Department of Energy and the President’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law are supporting advancements in clean energy technology, strengthening supply chains through made-in-America manufacturing, and ensuring an equitable transition to renewable energy for Appalachian communities.
Secretary Granholm was accompanied by Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin, and local leaders to tour the Robert C. Byrd Institute at Marshall University and host a press conference to highlight how President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will help further the goals the Interagency Working Group on Coal and Power Plant Communities and Economic Revitalization.
