SEOUL — Doosan Fuel Cell, the clean energy wing of South Korea’s Doosan Group, will build a manufacturing plant for power generation hydrogen fuel cells. The construction is to be completed by 2024.
Hydrogen fuel cells use hydrogen as fuel to produce electricity. Small-sized cells are installed in eco-friendly vehicles such as full-size sport utility vehicles while larger cell systems are used in hydrogen power generators.
Doosan Fuel Cell said in a statement on December 24 that the company signed a cooperation agreement with the southwestern port city of Gunsan, North Jeolla Province, the Saemangeum Development and Investment Agency, and Korea Rural Community Corporation to invest a total of 143.7 billion won ($121.2 million) to build a 79,200 square-meter-wide hydrogen fuel cell manufacturing plant in the…
