News Bnamericas Published: Wednesday, November 24, 2021 Madrid-based Grenergy Renovables envisions at least 4GW of energy storage in Chile by 2030 as the company begins the roll-out of this technology. CEO David Ruiz made the comment during the renewable energy developer’s nine-month results presentation where he said that Chile will be the most important market in Latin America on this front. Grenergy’s other target markets are Spain and the UK, said Ruiz, who highlighted that of 27 projects in the company’s energy storage pipeline, 14 are in Chile. The executive highlighted that the levelized cost of storage in the South American country is one of the lowest if not the lowest in the world, but added that some technical issues need to be resolved.
