By Adriano Marchese Ballard Power Systems Inc. said Thursday that it has received orders for a total of 40 of its fuel cells across Europe. The Canadian provider of clean energy fuel cell solutions said the 70 kilowatt FCmove-HD modules are intended for the planned deployment in hydrogen fuel cell electric buses in France, Germany and the U.K.
Ballard said there are currently around 160 fuel-cell electric buses in Europe powered by its system, which is an increase of over 80% since October of last year. The company added there are around 150 fuel cell modules currently on order with Ballard for deployment in the European market. “The hydrogen fuel cell bus market momentum continues to accelerate throughout Europe. In only twelve months, we have expanded from 10 into over 25 cities, across 10 European countries,” Director of European Sales Oben Uluc said….
